“Restoration of the Gut” – Post-Cleanse Recovery
From The Herb Peddler Apothecary Line
A deeply soothing and restorative blend for the digestive lining after cleansing.
Restoratio Intestina is a gentle, nourishing herbal tea intended to support digestive repair, gut flora balance, and nervous system calm following a parasite cleanse. Drawing on classical demulcent herbs like Marshmallow and Slippery Elm, and mineral-rich tonics like Nettle and Burdock, this blend restores what the cleanse may have depleted—hydration, minerals, and gut lining integrity. This is used for Phase 3 of the comprehensive cleanse, Purgatio Naturalis.
Ingredients:
- Nettle Leaf – Rich in minerals; replenishes and strengthens.
- Burdock Root – Gentle detoxifier and prebiotic root.
- Marshmallow Root – Moistens and soothes the digestive lining.
- Licorice Root – Harmonizer; reduces inflammation and enhances other herbs.
- Lemon Balm – Calming nervine that eases tension and spasms.
- Slippery Elm Bark – Traditional demulcent that coats and protects mucosa.
How to Use:
Steep 1–2 tsp in 8 oz of hot water for 10–15 minutes, covered.
Drink 2–3 times daily for 7–10 days after cleansing.
Ideal after Formula No. 6 to ease the body back into digestive balance.
The Phase 3 Ritual: Evening Gut Restoration
To get the most out of Restoratio Intestina, we recommend an evening ritual that signals your body to move into a “rest and repair” state.
Best Time: 30–60 minutes before bed, or mid-afternoon as a “digestive pause.”
Instructions:
-
Infuse: Steep 1–2 tsp of the blend in 8oz of hot (not boiling) water. Cover the cup while steeping for 10–15 minutes to keep the volatile oils and healing compounds inside.
-
Sip Mindfully: Drink slowly. Restorative herbs work best when the nervous system is calm. Avoid scrolling on your phone or watching TV while enjoying this cup.
-
Temperature Tip: Drink this tea warm. Cold liquids can “shock” a sensitive post-cleanse gut; warmth encourages blood flow to the digestive lining for better repair.
-
The “Seal”: For added benefit, pair your evening cup with a serving of collagen-rich bone broth or a probiotic food (like a spoonful of local sauerkraut) during your final meal of the day.
Farm Apothecary Tip: Phase 3 is about “re-wilding” your internal ecosystem. While taking Formula No. 7, focus on deep breathing and gentle movement (like a sunset walk at the ranch) to help the gut-brain axis stabilize after your cleanse.
Historic Inspiration:
Old-school botanical physicians placed great value on rebuilding after a cleanse. Soothing and nutritive herbs like Slippery Elm and Marshmallow were staples in convalescent formulas for gut and nerve recovery.
Apothecary Note:
A neglected step in many modern cleanses, post-purge recovery is essential to maintaining long-term health. This blend reflects the herbalist’s instinct to restore what’s been stirred up—balancing the purgative with the reparative.
What to Expect:
Flavor: Mild, sweet, earthy, with a smooth finish
Experience: Gentle soothing of digestive tract, calming and grounding
Effect: Restores mucosal integrity, eases tension, supports mineral and electrolyte balance
